The club was established in 1985 when a group of local people saved Hampton Pool from permanent closure and it became the focal point for volunteers who raised money and restored the pool for use by swimmers.
The club is designed to encourage families and other swimmers to become involved with the aims and objectives of Hampton Pool Trust. We also do voluntary work for the pool, including helping at the fantastic fundraising Summer Picnic Concerts and raising awareness of the pool within the community.
The emphasis on community spirit and voluntary work remains central to the club and all members are expected to contribute by organising and participating in fundraising activities and by offering more practical help with gardening and other maintenance. This commitment is an essential element of membership.
Some volunteering is expected from club members throughout the season.
The club meets from the beginning of April until the end of September.

(1) Club members must arrive at least 20 minutes before the end of the session. (2) The finishing time for the evening sessions is at the discretion of the duty committee member and is weather and attendance dependent
All sessions are lifeguarded by Hampton Pool staff but members must volunteer as poolside helpers for a minimum of two sessions a season.
There is a self cook barbecue on Tuesday and Sunday and evenings and members are encouraged to bring their own food and join in the fun. But one very strict rule is that no glass is allowed on poolside. All drinks must be in non-glass containers and all “glasses” must be made of unbreakable material.
This session is for experienced water polo players only.
The session takes place Thursday evenings from 21:00-22:00.
Please make sure to book before you come, as some days our team will be playing home matches, and the session will be non-existent.
We highly recommend coming down to one of our Sunday family sessions before attending a Thursday session. This will give you a sense of how the game works and will determine if you’re a strong enough swimmer to attend this session.
We're a men’s water polo team who train on Thursday evenings 21:00-22:00. Integrated in with the experienced session.
Being located at Hampton Pool, some travel from far, and others close. We compete in local water polo leagues and cups, playing matches over the London region. While we always want to win, we don’t let that get in the way of having a laugh and drink!
We’re a very diverse team, having ages from 18 all the way to late 60s. Anyone over the age of 18, with any prior experience is more than welcome to come down and try out for our team.
We’re always looking for new recruits and encourage anyone interested to come down and train with us.
Our race series has been running for many years in pretty much the same format.
It is a low cost, flat and fast race designed specifically to encourage triathletes to compete regularly.
Whether you are an Elite athlete looking to sharpen up ahead of a major event, or a novice new to the sport and wanting to get a feel for the excitement of the competition, Thames Turbo Race Series is ideal for you.
